    Complex move.

We reserved the moving team for a complex multi-stop move from Dallas to Austin. They broke several things and banged up a couple antiques, which I'll submit a claim for. The reason the items were broken and banged up, is because they weren't wrapped in pads, which surprised me. At the first stop, they were so diligent about wrapping everything tight. At the send stop, apparently they didn't - so you may want to watch them closely. In terms if the crew's work ethic, these guys HUSSLED. They were polite and were personable. I would use these guys again, IF they wrapped all breakable items. The team stated they would be at my place between 6-8am and showed up around 820. The pricing of the move I felt was fair, considering the stops and distance. The office (Mickey) was sure to reach out to me in advance to confirm the move and ensure they had a good list of items. He quoted me around $1200 and that included 5 hours of labor (excluding travel time) and I timed it..turned out to be about 4.5 hours. Overall, I'm happy with the move and services, with the exception of the broken items, but I'm assuming that the claims will cover the breakages.

Alpha Moving and Storage moved us locally on July 12, 2013. Everything seemed to go pretty smoothly. However, we had a few pieces scratched and the office desk was broken during the move. After the move, I offered the crew a few drinks to thank them. We were standing outside by the garage. Someone stole my RayBan sunglasses that were on a table by the garage and left their cheap sunglasses. I followed up several times with multiple people at Alpha Moving and Storage to exchange the sunglasses to no avail. Nobody admitted to taking the RayBan's.Like I'm sure most people do during a move, we gave several items to the workers, including a 50 inch Plasma TV.As I stated, we moved on July 12, 2013. We are still waiting to hear anything regarding our damaged pieces. Be care who you choose, and review their claim process before choosing.Although the move was relatively smooth, at this time, I question the integrity of one, or more of the workers.

I'm very nervous my rate went from 1950.00 4010.00 he showed with up with a totally different rate then quoted and different items were missing on his quote than the one I was emailed. I have a 2 bedroom Apartment with only one bedroom of furniture, not much furniture I did have a lot of boxes that I packed. After 8?hrs with 2 hrs of which was spent writing and re-doing pages and pages of paperwork and 8:15 pm. I hope my items make it to Oklahoma and we are not charged any additional charges. I have no clue what else to do but pray it arrives in one piece because I feel we were ripped off! How can something like this be so wrong I could care less about cubic ft and SQ footage. 2 bedroom apartment.

My wife & I have moved 19 times in 15 years, we know the process. These guys turned out to be full of sh*t from the start. Don't trust an over the phone quote! Its Bullsh*t. Our first quote starts out at under $2000., then it went to just under $2300.(added boxes) When they arrived on moving day it went to $3400. The rep that quoted us, quoted/priced everything as small or didn't list it at all. They know that once they show up on moving day, that you've planned & scheduled they got you, because 99% of us can't say get the h*ll out & get another mover. The rep & the manager told us we would get our stuff the next day, two days top, nope. The driver at first tells us up to 12 days & that its going to a storage warehouse in Houston, the wrong direction, we're moving to Florida. The manager says he's so sorry, scheduling issues, but that it will be 7 days or less. (the same manager that the day before told me the next day, 2 tops) Then the insurance issue. The rep tells us that the price included up to $50,000 of replacement value insurance. A good thing, right? It doesn't exist. Now we've moved a lot, remember, so I tell the guy I need that in writing, so he sends me an email, a company email stating that we do in fact have this coverage. On moving day they wanted us to sign a waiver stating we were rejecting/waiving any full coverage insurance & accepting the 60 cents per pound coverage. We said no. Why should we, we have in writing from the rep, their company, that we have full coverage. NOPE. These SOB's said they would unload the truck if we didn't sign. So we said we'd sign but we going to put "under duress", NOPE. So we either sign or our stuff gets unloaded, no way to get our stuff to our new home, that goes to closing a few days later. We signed, a lawyer friend…

Horrible communication and costs added as you go.

The move took literally weeks longer because when they didn't get documents I had repeatedly faxed they simply didn't put my furniture on the truck or call me and inform me. They told me specific things in sales and then told me completely different things in other departments and never had anyone call back. They didn't assemble the furniture as promised because some of it was picked up from storage even though I was told it would be. A different company will sell you the services and then a different company witll pick up the items. They will not honor even what is in writing. All the furniture that they had been told was plaster was later required to be crated at $50 dollars a crate..I asked if more could be added was told it could..driver says she can tell you what ever she wants there is no room on the truck (20% of my things get left in another city.) The customer service is only a call center looking at your contract (she admitted this and then the woman that answers the phone but also calls herself the manager said it wasn't true.) I almost never got a return phone call and they only answer there phone about 25% of the time. Poor communication. They will lie and tell you one thing and then you will find yourself dealing with another person who won't honor that. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

The movers were horrible. Was quoted 1 rate then was given double the price. this was just some furniture being moved from my father in laws house to mine and my brother in laws. This was not us moving. They scratched my beautiful wooden floors upstairs. I moved into this house last year with triple the amount of stuff and the movers were great. These guys wanted a big tip. Here is a tip stop stealing from your customers.

    Damaged goods.

This company did exactly the same as a previous reviewer. except I was offered no compensation at all. they did admit that their people damaged the furniture but denied that they owe anything in compensation. ttheir process for understanding the damage was very slow and had to be chased for more than three months. there was no inspection of the damage by a loss adjuster. the insurance company supposedly came from Arizona, probable a fake fronted company. this moving company is no longer a BBB COMPANY as they have received an F from the BBB for unsatisfactory customer service. this company rating is below the chart that is given above, my recommendation is that these negative reviews are posted every where so that no other potential customers are misused by this company any more. they are unprofessional and obviously a cheating company.

    NOT a professional moving company.

Under-estimated the entire job. 27k lbs was the estimate I received from them and other companies, but Alpha stated they could pack, load and unload in 3 days..now I know why. They did not pack as a professional packing company would. As an example, instead of hanging my closet hanging clothes in a wardrobe box, the stacked them all on top of each other in a wardrobe box. They placed jars of change (unwrapped) on top of my dress shoes (many of which cost . $150-200 each), then threw in my hiking boots and running shows. Nothing was wrapped, except my china..which was wrapped in a single sheet of paper. They ran out of materials and used my material. They did not have tools to disassemble and reassemble my furniture, so I had to loan them my tools. Boxes were not labled, contents from different rooms were mixed together and a majority of the last day of the unload, the load was stacked in the garage. In my 52 years, as a military brat and as a military vet, I have moved well over 20 times..domestically and internationally..I believe I have the experience to speak with some credibility..these folks do NOT know how to properly move a home.

    Worst.

TERRIBLE! We have used movers several times and by far these so called professional movers were a joke. Brought a small trailer, took 8 hours to pack up our place, and then an additional 5 hours to unpack, and it would have been longer if I hadn't told them to just leave the rest in front room. Broke a washer, couldn't move certain items, so I had to assist, scratched furniture, walls, doors, etc.. The older mover brought along a child to assist, and could barely speak English. I called the corporate number to complain, and he said he would talk to the movers. He never did. When it came time to pay, said I owed $1250.00!! I was shocked. Moved from an apartment (1300 sq. Ft.) to a house. I refused to pay, and finally they agreed on 750, which was way too much. DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS. NEVER!!

I wouldn't reccomend this company to move your dog's house. This company will take your money and hide behind extreme clauses like "5 hour window" from the time they gave you to arrive or " 4 to 6 weeks to deliver your belongings" from the date they gave you. They were 5 hours late picking up my things. By then I was in a bind and had no choice but to let them move my stuff. I moved 6 hours away. They promised to deliver on on a certain date but kept my things hostage in a warehouse in dallas for over a month. The managers hid behind the receptionist and rarely returned phone calls. After many, many calls they finally delivered my belongings in a uhual truck close to midnight and only discounted the price $50.00. I was lied to from beginning to end. Whatever happened to honesty and integrity. This complany doesn't have any. My children and I was stuck in another state without anything. I only packed enough things to last until the date that they promised me. I had to repurchase things I already had. Do not use this company.
