We are extremely happy with the services from the crew at flatrate. They are professionals and take great care with our belongings and consistently go above and beyond. This is why we use them again and again.

Our family has used FlatRate several times over the years, always with great success. Their movers are pros, and their sales and support staff make sure everything goes smoothly. Our most recent experience in Oct 2020 was no exception. The move was flawlessly executed from start to finish. The move included glass pieces and antiques, all of which arrived in tip top shape. We highly recommend this company. The price seems fair and the service merits it.

    Move and Store.

Due to Covid, we sold our apartment in BK, and will get another one when things settle down. FlatRate white-glove packed us and will store our belongings indefinitely. They were Courteous and Professional throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend them.

    Worst moving company in NY.

Stay away! We moved from NYC to NJ last week and booked packing and moving with Flatrate. The movers came a day before to pack and didn't have enough supplies so they only packed half of the stuff. They said they will come with more supplies on the moving day. The day after I started seeing them moving our stuff without boxes, I asked them what's going on and they said they don't have boxes, only after I demanded they will pack everything they said they will go to get boxes. When we got to our new home I saw that the baby bed has many dents, when I asked the mover he said yes sorry I didn't have enough blankets so I didn't wrap it. They leaned our tvs against the wall and we didn't check. The next morning when we came to install them we saw our living room TV (a new 65' samsung tv) had a cracked screen which the movers where just hiding from us by positioning the TV against the wall. We called Flatrate multiple times and we're asked to file a report but it's been a week and no one reached us back. They sounded so nice and professional on the phone, please don't buy that like we did and don't use Flatrate moving.

    Poor and unprofessional moving experience.

Beware of using FlatRate, unfortunately the gap between what they promise to what really happens is huge. The movers basically don't care about your furniture and your personal belongings and not only break them but also just place the belongings on the dirty roads of NYC without wrapping or covering them. Extremely problematic during COVID 19 times (e.g., they put our carpets and kitchenware wide open on the street roads!). My wife is pregnant and that impose a big risk to her health and the team couldn't care less about it.. Worst is the customer service during and after the move, they pretty much ignore you and you can only get a hold of them when they want to sell their services! Do not be confused by the friendly appearance of the Sales team and communication before your move..

    International move.

Have done a lot of national and international moves and this is the worst moving company I have dealt with. They moved our furniture from the Baltimore port to Bethesda using a little know subcontracted company called Letz Get Moving. The "boss" arrives with only 1 other person having hired 2 other people last minute. The 2 teams did not work well together and they did not have any moving supplies. They dumped everything in our apartment and did not assemble anything or unwrap the furniture per contract and left. There are images to prove that below. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Anyone who wants to go for a class action lawsuit, I am willing to pitch in.

    Do Not Use.

This was the worst move in my life. Bottom line - they lost a $3,800 bed (and that isn't all of it). It's been over two months and I'm still dealing with this. The costumer service is garbage. They do not return calls. They are not helpful. And they act as if it isn't their responsibility to get your furniture from one place to another. Find a different mover. Trust me.

    Move.

Worst moving experience (of the 20+ moves I have done)! I had heard good things, but their quality must have deteriorated. On moving day, an extra $300 service was charged to me that I did not pre-approve (a bookshelf that did not require dismantling as per the virtual tour, was dismantled). Terrible communication between team members. "Flatrate" is a misnomer. They agreed to refund the charge. It never came. I emailed multiple times. I eventually had to dispute it on my credit card. When I unpacked, it was clear that many things were improperly or haphazardly packed. One of my items (an irreplaceable stone/ceramic Buddha) was severely broken. Its head was severed (see images). As you can see, the item was barely wrapped, and in a box by itself with nothing else--with lots of room to move. The box was not labeled as fragile, nor was the item packed properly. It's as if it was thrown it into a box with no proper handling or wrapping. I've yet to receive any followup regarding compensation for this damage. Despite multiple calls and emails. Terrible customer service. Brian Nalty as well as the rest of the team have been unresponsive and unprofessional. Laurence Yates (sales) was the only responsive and professional individual--and customer service would not even respond to his requests. That tells you a lot about the company! This move was highly disappointing on multiple levels. It's clear that there was very little respect for my items. I had hoped that flatrate would make moving smoother during such a stressful time--but between being overcharged and having an item destroyed, it did very much the the opposite. Would not recommend AT ALL. There are many other better companies in NYC.

    TERRIBLE customer service.

I had booked a move with FlatRate for last Monday the 17th, but I had to reschedule due to a change of plans. The company policy says that I can reschedule my move up to 48 hours before, so I contacted my representative Bethany on Thursday the 13th to reschedule my move and she answered me saying that she contacted management about the date change. I thought everything was settled until yesterday the truck came - I talked to dispatch and they said there was a confusion and that they would reschedule the move for me. But I keep getting emails saying that my things are in storage (they’re not) and I was charged for a moving that didn’t happen. I emailed and called Bethany, another representative called Nicholas, and customer service several times with no replies from anyone. Now the only thing left to do is contact my lawyer and try to get my money back. Beware of this company.
