We had a last minute need to pack up a small apartment and move back to ON. Emily was great giving us a quote and following up. After reading reviews I was a bit concerned but have to say that the entire experience exceeded my expectations. When they said the truck would arrive, it did. What they said it would cost, it did. No damage. Friendly and qualified movers. Highly recommend.

I'll start by saying that my partner and I count ourselves lucky. We did receive our stuff and nothing was broken. It was clear that little care was given to boxes nor any furniture and there are significant scuffs and scratches on custom-made pieces of furniture. After learning more about these moving companies, the scuffs are my fault for not wrapping absolutely every single surface and letting the movers wrap/pack the larger pieces. I've learned my lesson. I firmly believe that the reason nothing arrived broken is because I've read the horror stories about moving companies and anything that was remotely breakable or valuable I wrapped the absolutely crap out of. Now the reason for 2 stars. We promptly received a quote to our email from Emily King. She was helpful on the phone when we called. She was pleasant and prompt. We booked our time, paid our deposit. All seemed in place. Then silence. I called to confirm our pickup date, and suddenly the ever-helpful "Emily" was no where to be found. Finally got someone else from True Maple on the phone and they told me that Emily no longer works there. Hmmm. Convenient. (*I submitted for a new quote recently with True Maple and got a hold of "Emily" again. Lie #1). Movers in Vancouver came to pick up our stuff. 4 hours late. They were respectful enough however charged us $300 for "packing fees" and matress covers. This was unfortunate as we had asked very detailed questions to Emily about the packing process, what was included, what was not. She specifically said that mattress covers and packaging of all furniture was included. Apparently not. The Vancouver movers demanded cash. This was our next bad omen. It was 10 PM at night and they had all our stuff on the truck. We had no choice but to pay it. Our delivery date was…

They used several names of companies like a scam. The contact person know less (Or pretend to) than yourself. For us her name was Emily. They don’t give you the weight until they delivery. And if you don’t pay they don’t open the truck. In other words, they give you an estimative of 30% of the final price (but you will know only when they park in front of your house). We wait 2 months to receive our belongs. When we finally find the person in charge, the “region manager” hung up the phone on my wife - btw: she told him she was pregnant and waiting for our baby belongs inside the truck. I do not recommend even for my worst enemy. Do It yourself, use your friends. Save money and stress.

Total rip off. Hidden charges. Wood and glass furniture only covered if paying hefty fee per piece of furniture. Then they refused to unload truck at the new location unless another huge deposit was made. Three men took their sweet time so the cost was way beyond original quote. Called office mid-day to complain and there was absolutely no negotiating. Told pay up or lose your truck load of stuff.

I wish I had paid attention to the previous reviews before I decided to use this company. My items were collected in Toronto on Feb 7th and I was told by Emily delivery would be 10 - 14 days. I arrived in Vancouver on Feb 18th and had a scheduled delivery with True maple on this date. I called them as nobody from their company had reached out to confirm delivery time. They let me know my items had been delayed another 7- 10 days. I was literally stuck in Vancouver without a bed, sofa, pots/pans, cutlery, clothes etc. Long story short - my items did not arrive until March 19th. Over 1 month late. I had to re - purchase so many items just to survive which completely defeated the purpose of using a moving company. It also left me out of pocket. The company do not give one crap about you once they have your money. Steve who is the dispatch manager is nothing short of a scumbag. He laughed down the phone and hung up when I called for an update. Again I had read this in previous reviews and should have paid attention. I never write negative reviews but this time I feel this needs to be seen before anyone makes the mistake of using this company again. Pay a little extra money and use a reputable moving company.

They have no regard for customer service within this company. I was a fairly small moving job and they had no regard for when I would receive my belongings. They won't deliver your things until after you have paid and then they said I wouldn't get my things for 2 more months because of the size of my move and my location. They are cheaper than average but not worth the savings for the stress.

This is an absolutely disgusting company! If zero stars was an option, you bet I would select it. I recently moved from Halifax to Calgary with True Maple. Their terms and conditions effectively state that they are not in any way responsible for any of your goods. They do not share their binding contract and terms and conditions until they have your good in their possession - by which time it was too late to do anything. They were already late on their pick up, resulting in me having to delay my move. They make zero attempt to protect any of your furniture - despite assurances that they would. They were super responsive until they have your business, and then they completely ignore you. When I filed a claim for the damage done to my goods - along with clear evidence that my goods were manhandled -they stated that the damage was below my deductible and according to their terms and conditions they are not responsible. There wasn't even an apology or acknowledgement of the $100s of damage they had caused. I will do everything in my power to ensure that nobody I know is ever taken advantage of by this company - it is absolutely criminal.
